To install vmware in kernel 2.6.29 it’s need install a patch in vmware (full thread can be found here):

1. download vmware-6.5.2-modules-2.6.29-fix.sh
2. download vmware-6.5.2-modules-2.6.29-fix.patch
3. install kernel-devel (in mandriva is urpmi kernel-devel)
4. run: sh vmware-6.5.2-modules-2.6.29-fix.sh
5. execute the command: vmware-modconfig –console –install-all
6. now you can run vmware without problems
